Campervan Adventures

We were lucky enough to recently visit Coll for a few days. The weather was changeable but when the sun shone it was worth the rainy interludes.
For our stay we based ourselves in the south part of the island camping at the excellent Garden House campsite. The site was run by the really friendly Ken. It is secluded, sheltered and well maintained. We had a pitch with a hookup and plenty of space.
From the campsite we were able to do plenty of walks. We cycled to the beaches and also had fun belly boarding. The beaches on the west side tended to be better with cleaner sand and a more sheltered aspect

Our wildlife spots were also notable. On one day we heard cuckoos and corncrakes. We watched an otter on the beach and hares in the field opposite the airport. In the evening a sea eagle flew over the site.
Very much the sleepy cousin of Tiree it is well worth a visit.
